SUMMARY:Full Mourning Moon Ritual
DESCRIPTION:November’s Beaver Moon, also known as the Full Mourning Moon, holds a powerful energy of release and renewal. In Celtic tradition, Samhain (October 31st) marks the New Year, and this Full Moon invites us to grieve for what has passed and let go of what we no longer wish to carry into the coming year. It is a time to start anew, set fresh goals, and look forward to the warmth and light of Yule as the days grow longer.\nWe will begin the evening by invoking Hekate, the powerful goddess associated with November and the liminal spaces between past and future. Known as the goddess of the crossroads, Hekate holds dominion over transitions, magic, and the unseen realms. Her torches illuminate the path forward, providing guidance and protection as we make choices and release what no longer serves us. Surrounded by candlelight, we’ll invite her presence into our circle for deep, transformative spell work, calling upon her wisdom to guide us through this sacred time of change.\nUnder the guidance of High Priestess Rev. Karyn Williams, you will also learn how to formally cast and protect a circle with quarter calls, using specific tools and ancient methods that honor the goddess’s protective nature. The evening includes a burning bowl ritual, an opportunity to release what no longer serves us, symbolically letting it go so that it may die and be reborn into new life. This makes room for our new intentions and the fresh energy we are bringing into the new year.\nWe will also engage in take-home spell work with Hekate, focused on her blessings of protection and transformation. Participants will receive correspondence handouts as well. As we conclude the ritual, we will share in breaking bread, celebrating our connection and strength in community.
