DESCRIPTION:\nLearn the Witch Dance\nBack by Popular Demand!\nThe Witch Dance is back at The Zen Shop’s Witchfest and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you!  If you’ve ever wanted to experience the magic, community, and empowerment of this viral dance, this is your chance to join us for an unforgettable day.\nThe Witch Dance was first choreographed in 2016 by the women of Wolfshager Hexenbrut (The Wolf Hunter’s Coven) in Wolfshagen, Germany. Performed to Peter Fox’s Schuttel deinen Speck (“Shake Your Bacon”), the dance quickly became a global phenomenon. Videos of the performance spread worldwide, inspiring covens, pagan groups, and spiritual communities to add their own variations. The dance combines grounded, earthy steps with powerful movements that channel witchy energy in a fun and empowering way.\nSince 2019, the Durham Region Chapter Witch Dance at The Zen Shop has brought this tradition to life right here in Oshawa. Our students and community members love this event for its authenticity and the sense of connection it creates. Each year, spots fill quickly — and now it’s back for Witchfest Oshawa 2025!\nHere’s what you’ll experience when you join us to Learn the Witch Dance:\n\n\n10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Create your very own besom (broom) during our hands-on workshop. All supplies are included, and your broom is yours to take home. *$50 value\n\n\n12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Break for lunch. You’re welcome to bring your own meal or explore nearby restaurants.\n\n\n12:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Step-by-step instruction to Learn the Witch Dance. Our teachers will guide you through each movement until the group flows together in perfect rhythm.\n\n\nThis is more than just a class — it’s a celebration of tradition, community, and witchy fun. Whether you’re a returning student or brand new to the dance, you’ll leave with new skills, new friends, and your own handmade broom to cherish.\nAll besom-making supplies are included in your registration.\n\n\n
