Macramé is a French word that means knot and is one of the oldest forms of art with examples found in many cultures around the world. Done by hand, without needles, by weaving threads or cords together, beautiful patterns can be created. Symbolizing the Bohemian style, it is most often used to make wall hangings, plant hangers, accessories, and clothing. The most beautiful designs can be completed with just a handful of simple knots which is what this class will provide. 5 basic knots will be demonstrated: Lark’s Head Knot Cow Hitch Knot Square Knot Double Half Hitch Wrapping Knot These can be applied to a multitude of online patterns or used to create your own. To finish off the class a simple project that makes a big statement will be completed for you to displayed at home. All supplies will be provided.
