We partnered with The Paranormal Seekers to host a fundraising séance in support of Team Chelsea Lost Pet Search Group — an incredible night filled with spiritual connection, ghost-hunting equipment, and a shared mission to bring lost pets home. Together, we raised awareness and funds for a cause that touches so many hearts.
Fundraiser for Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue
During the holiday season, we hosted a heartfelt fundraiser to support Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue. Our facilitators generously donated services like readings and classes, and The Zen Shop contributed a $100 gift certificate. Raffle tickets were sold throughout December, and the funds raised helped purchase a new baby incubator for the rescue. Soper Creek’s sweet opossum stopped by to draw the winning tickets and delight our customers with wildlife education.
Supporting Local Youth Sports
We are proud to support local minor hockey and encourage youth development both on and off the ice. Our name has been featured on the back of jerseys for the Oshawa Generals for many years, and we’re honoured to be part of a tradition that promotes teamwork, discipline, and community spirit.
$500 Grand Prize for U14 Fundraiser
As official team sponsors, we curated the Oshawa Generals U14’s incredible $500 Booze Basket for their major team fundraiser. The team sold raffle tickets throughout the community, and proceeds funded an iPad and stat-tracking software to help enhance coaching and performance. Santa’s Parade of Lights – Oshawa
The Zen Shop lit up the night with our float in the Oshawa Santa’s Parade of Lights. Many of our customers who had taken our Witch Dance class performed the iconic bellydance in glowing costumes behind our float. It was a magical community experience — made possible by our amazing staff, family, and friends who came together to celebrate the season, the spirit of the Craft, and a whole lot of joy.
The Zen Shop proudly donates to many meaningful causes throughout the year — and one close to our hearts is Shelby’s Raffle in support of the MS Walk. What started with a $10,000 goal grew into a record-breaking $16,405 fundraiser — the largest total yet. Our $100 Zen Shop gift card was one of many prizes donated to help raise funds and awareness. Ongoing Animal Rescue Donations
Our “Paws for a Cause” donation jar sits at our checkout every day, offering customers a simple way to help support local animal rescues. Funds will go toward food, shelter, medical care, and other essentials for animals in need. Once the jar is full, we’ll donate to a local rescue — and after that, continue choosing new ones to support. Every dollar helps make a difference in the lives of animals who need it most.
Partnership with Durham College Students Inc.
The Zen Shop partnered with Durham College Students Inc. to provide Halloween-based programming for students, offering fun and educational sessions on Tarot, Crystals, and Astrology. As part of our ongoing support for student wellness, we also offered a guided group Hypnosis session during Mental Health Week. It was an honour to bring metaphysical insight and healing practices to the campus community.
Pagan Pride Day – Durham Region
The Zen Shop has proudly participated in Durham Pagan Pride Day on multiple occasions, celebrating community, spiritual freedom, and earth-based traditions. Our booth offered metaphysical tools and guidance, our Witch Dance crew brought joy and rhythm to the park, and we were deeply honoured when Rev. Karyn was invited to open the event with a prayer and ritual. A meaningful day filled with connection, culture, and magick.
